Tech Savvy Receptionist

Orange Computer fixes broken computers and sells quality laptops and workstations. We are looking for a friendly Tech Savvy Receptionist at our down town La Crosse, Wisconsin repair shop to help our customers feel at ease when they call or come in. This position is part time, with the ideal schedule being five hours every workday (Monday through Friday). We want someone with the ability to comfortably talk about computer hardware, operating systems, and software. We'll provide training, so don't feel like you have to know everything before applying. A friendly professional presence is most important. Much of your time will be spent talking with people on the phone or in person as they are dropping off or picking up their computers.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • answer telephone, screen and direct calls
  • take and relay messages
  • provide information to callers
  • greet people coming in
  • answer questions from the public and customers
  • provide general administrative and clerical support
  • receive and sort mail and deliveries
  • control inventory relevant to reception area
  • tidy and maintain the reception area
  • data entry with attention to detail
  • calling customers to inform about their computer's status
  • answer questions about computers we have for sale
  • effectively communicate with our repair technicians


  • personal or work experience with computer hardware, operating systems, and software
  • previous work using customer service principles and practices
